That's not Lenovo's fault, but it's something to consider. Intel-based machines just can't match the balance of power, performance, and thermals that Apple has with its custom silicon. Of course, that was on a machine that costs nearly $4,000, but you also have to consider how much smaller that PC is. In our review of the Mac Studio, this same workload was done in just one minute and 22 seconds using DaVinci Resolve. That's pretty fast for this kind of workload, though it's hard not to look over at Apple's Mac Studio here. The video itself is 4 minutes and 2 seconds long, and the total render time was 6 minutes and 46 seconds. Of course, a more likely workload for this machine is video rendering, so I tried to export an 8K video using DaVinci Resolve. CPU performance is right on par with bigger machines that have the same processor, like the Intel NUC 12 Extreme.
